 he
ever-growing collection of quality children’s literature and
first-rate nonfiction books opens a world of opportunity to
everyone. Preschoolers love the fables and fairy tales presented
on the flannel board. Kindergarteners look forward to checking
out their first books with a keen sense of anticipation. Elementary
students learn how to use reference books to aid them in their
classroom projects. Using the Dewey Decimal System, they can locate
any book that they need. Our goal continues to be to open the
wonderful world of reading to all of our students.
We welcome you to The Heritage School Library. A new year
means we make resolutions to better ourselves at home and at
school. Level I-IV will write their resolution on snowflakes that
will turn the Library into a " Winter Wonderland". Preschoolers
will continue to be entertained by a variety of wonderful stories
with emphasis on fairy tales. Lower elementary levels will learn
about folktale heroes like Paul Bunyan and John Henry. Upper
elementary levels will continue to enhance their research skills by
learning to use a textbook glossary as well as a dictionary. We
will also learn about Martin Luther King Jr.´s life and his
importance in American History. Levels II and III will present
oral book reports on a Caldecott Award winning book, while Levels
IV and V will do a book report on a Newberry Award winning book.
There´s always something happening in
the Library !
